oops .. thats an RX570 .. not RX5700 .. the RX570 is a good budget card and does decent at 1080p gaming. I run one in my daughters rig paired with a 3600x, 2 16GB PC3000 on the ASRock Fatal1ty B350 Gaming ITX/ac. She plays Fortnite, Destiny 2, Forza 4(?) ..and other games at 1080p real nicely.

Any PCIe video card will work .. whatever fits your needs/budget. The RX5700 is a good middle of the road gamer. I run the ASRock RX5700xt myself. |

Would this video card work?
https://www.newegg.com/product/N82E16814150795?m_ver=1 Sorry if I'm asking (what could be) a dumb question...I now see that building a new PC has definitely changed since I last did it. |

there is no onboard video on any AM4 motherboard .. some CPU's come with integrated graphics like the 3400g etc .. but the Ryzen 3600 does not have integrated graphics .. you need a video card or an appropriate APU like the Ryzen 3400g (you could say that the "G" is for "Graphics")

I'm not using any video card, just the onboard video. Does the motherboard require use of a video card? This is my first attempt at building a computer in about 15 years.

what video card are you using? The 3600 does not have integrated graphics to be able to use any of the video out ports on the motherboard.

I recently built a new PC but am not getting video (seems to be a common thing with this moboard).
Here is what I'm using: * ASRock B450M Pro 4 motherboard * AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-GHz (4.2 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W * G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB 288-pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Module (?4) * 1000W ATX Power Supply Quiet Gaming 14cm Fan Dual SLI Ready for VGA ATI nVidia Note: I had to send the PSU back as it didn't fire up, so I'm presently using a Thermaltake TR2-430W PSU just to see if the moboard fires up, which it does, but I have no video output. I've tried switching around the RAM sticks to different sockets, but no change. I don't even hear any beeps coming from the onboard motherboard speaker (does it even have one? I dont see anything that resembles one). Any suggestions? |
