Hey hoping for a lot of help.

I just bought a Ryzen 2200g and Asrock B450M HDV rev4.0 with the plans to do some nice overclocking as i had read this was the good combo and potential for a decent OC

First problem i have is the shipped mobo has the 3.70 update on the motherboard which states on the site do not use with my APU :/ I understand its a nice bit of customer service for new buyers but it can end up rendering someone with an older chip useless if they cant use the bios thats been installed... surely its best to leave it default and allow the user to keep or update.

Secondly just need confirmation this board doesnt have VRM temp sensors i ask as ive read this board despite being able to overclock can get very toasty in the vrm department.

any help tips and advice would great

forgot to add slightly off topic i have a pair of 8gb bdie samsung 3200 ram sticks... that i also planned to overclock so far ive been unsuccesful getting beyond the 3200 mark or tightening timings without having to increase dram and soc to a questionably unsafe level.

Why is it im seeing people going from 2400 all the way to 3200 with normal dram/soc volts yet my stock 3200 cant even go to 3400 without risking dram volts and soc levels that could cause intense heat ?

possibly a bios issue that will resolve with a downgrade ?

Do keep in mind that you might experience limitations of the on board memory controller of the 2200g.

One example:
I had the 2200g in my wifes setup (ASUS B350 Prime) and it would not run 4 sticks of 3200mhz no matter what speed I set them too .. instant BSOD. 2 sticks could do 3000mhz .. Upgraded to a 3400g on same mobo, same BIOS and now can do all 4 sticks at 3200mhz.

Yeah that is what i was thinking im very lucky that my ryzen boots with the newest bios installed as ive read horror stories of people being unable to install their new cpu and mobo together because of this.

So i can i downgrade from 3.70 to a version that is compatible with my 2200g ? is it a simple downgrade or could there be complications i think i'd need to go back to around 3.20/3.50 to have the correct working bios for my chip

Your as good as it's going to get with the newest bios. I don't know that you can or would want to "backflash" anyways.
