its not as simple as that asrock cannot invent agesa they need agesa from amd to then edit it to suit the mainboard in question amd at first didnt want to release x470 agesa, but bowed under pressure to help manufactuers support the x470/450 (one quoted was MSI whose advertising promised *future* am4 cpus for the MAX series) the agesa code is different from x370 to x470 (you realise in a 16mb block of your bios chip there are TWO DIFFERENT agesa for 3xx and 4xx cpus ? ), and amd will not release x370 agesa to board makers this has been covered quite deeply by many of the tech press one to mention is gamers nexus who have made a very long and detailed video covering this issue now if YOU think you know better than AMD BOARD MAKERS THE ACTUAL BIOS FILE CODERS who were all asked and consulted for that very video then i eagerly await you to post a link to your very own agesa you have written from scratch for the x370 yes i know board partners have in the past tweaked some nifty code into bios ( phenom core unlockers / fsb overclocking for non overclocking intel cpus etc etc ) but amd specifiaclly locking out a320/b350/x370 in the agesa for ryzen 4000 would be very hard for a board maker to get past , also note if AMD state its not to be done a board partner would be pretty foolish to do it ,to support a board that is 3 years out of date just to keep you happy so to sum up your wrong asrock WONT have agesa (microcode) for x370 |

amd is allowing it but the bios upgrade is a one way path but if all depends on board manufacturers on what they do

And look at X570 Phantom X, CPU power supply socket is 8+4, more than x370 Taichi. Heatsink is so much bigger than x370 taichi. I recently touch the x370 taichi VRM heatsinks during idling, web browsing, youtube, etc, no gaming. VRM heatsink is HOTTTTTTTT, it's saturating. |

Yes, me too, 16 VRM versus others 8 or 10 or 12.... But looking at B450 I notice they have much bigger heatsinks, but our heatsink is so small.... Unfortunately to say our board is out-dated in so many various ways. |

Well... considering some old boards should not support Zen 2, but manufacturers were able to provide support for some boards, I really think this is manufacturer decision, since they will have the microcode to implement it. Besides that, X470 is similar to X370. Sooooooo..... |

your in the same boat as me
x370 taichi for us it looks like amd WILL NOT support x370 even with our large bios chips this is amd not asrocks decision the only option i can see would be AND THIS IS VERY CHANCEY/UNADVISED but there is a way to flash x470 taichi bios to the x370 alas i cannot tell you how to do this on this forum AND I WILL NOT TELL PEOPLE IN PRIVATE EITHER SO DO NOT ! SEND ME A REQUEST PRIVATELY if you want to chance breaking your board go and find the information yourself on google , and dont blame me if it goes wrong |

Hey guys!
I know it's too soon to ask for this but.... considering AMD will provide support for X470 motherboards but without flashback compatibility due to low BIOS CHIP size (16/32MB), and knowing X470 and X370 is pretty similar, is it too much to ask for Ryzen 4000 series support in X370 Taichi motherboard? Considering X470 is pretty similar to X370, and X370 Taichi has a large BIOS CHIP (I think it's 128Mb, based on the specifications page). ![]() https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/index.asp#Specification I specifically choose X370 among other boards because of their good VRM and this great built quality, I hope this choice was a good one and will reflect now after some years :P Btw, sorry for any grammar mistake, English is not my native language and my english is a bit rusty :P |
