I'm considering finally making the move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and would like some advice on which drivers I'll need to install and where to get them.
I'm planning to do a clean install of Windows 10 rather than an upgrade install. I'm probably going to take the opportunity to change to a larger SSD for the boot drive (500 GB instead of current 120 GB). I'm just using the basic Z77 Extreme6 onboard audio, video, and LAN. Asrock has Win 10 x64 drivers for Realtek audio, SATA3 drives, Intel Management Engine, and the "INF driver" which I assume is the chipset driver. There are a few other utilities as well as something called "Restart to UEFI." What's that and do I need to install it? One of the other Win 10 downloads is the "ASRock 3TB+ Unlocker utility." What does this do? There were more drivers for Windows 7, including Intel and Etron USB 3.0 drivers and a Broadcom LAN driver. Are these all "in box" for a clean Windows 10 install? If not, I assume I'll have to find them from Intel, Etron, and Broadcom. Any advice would be most appreciated. |

P.S. I meant to include that I'm still using the BIOS version from my inital install years ago: UEFI version P1.50. Do I need to update that before doing anything else?

Windows 10 should have all the drivers you need to get every thing working.
If you want to install the suggested drivers off the asrock site you can. But everything should work without them. Your bios should be fine as well. peace wanna |

Thanks.
I would have guessed that Windows 10 had the necessary drivers, but it's good to have confirmation. And considering that the drivers on the Asrock site are 4 and 5 years old, I won't install them unless something odd happens with the in-box drivers. |
