Beebox N3000 Ubuntu 15.10: screen blanks

   I'm using a Philips TV as display via HDMI and it works fine, except that, occasionally, usually immediately after a user input, the screen goes blank.  Not black or 'no signal': just switches to a single apparently random colour.  System is still working (eg, playing music) but one can't do anything with it and I can't find a key combination to reset it.  I suspect a driver problem, but don't know which driver(s) to fix or replace.  Suggestions ?
