Hi, I have just finished setting up my new rig and im using a 970 Extreme3 r2.0 mobo
However the usb ports are constantly powered. I have looked for all the possible settings in the bios and any jumpers but just cant seem to find any. Anyone had this problem but sorted it?? Thanks

It is not a problem, it's the way modern boards work these days. The ports remain powered so long as there is power to the system. If there is something that connects to your USB ports (like a mouse) that you wish to switch off when the PC is powered down you will need to either turn off the system at the wall or PSU power switch. If that is awkward to reach then you could try using a powered USB hub that you can switch off when needed.
I know this isn't what you want to hear but it simply is the way it is.

You can disable it in the BIOS.
I forget how but ASRock Support told me how. Maybe the FAQ says how. |
