Z390 Phantom Gaming 6 (bios 4.00) Intel I9 9900 Noctua NH-U12S 32GB DDR4 3200 ram Nvidia RTX 2060 6GB EVGA 1000W GQ PSU I built the system above about 2 months ago all parts new, however I had an Intel I5 9600k at first and the system ran fine zero problems. Yesterday (25/9/2020) I changed the CPU over to the Intel I9 9900 (65Watt Non K) and reset the bios ie pulled the batt and used the jumper too. On first boot set all setting in bios and system booted no problems and is running fine, however I ran HWinfo64 to check voltages temps etc and all ok with them, so I ran CineBench R20 and all 8 cores went up 4.6GHz as the test ran but within a second or two all 8 cores fell to 3.7GHz and HWinfo 64 reported "Core # power limit Exceeded" on all 8 cores! the test finished ok with a score of 4167 So what's going on ? is the correct for the CPU to do this ? max temp with the speed dropped was 60c. I didn't see this with my I5 9600k and that is a 95Watt Cpu so is the I9 faulty or do I need to change some setting in the bios ?? Thanks |
