I'm planning on purchasing a J4105M motherboard for a light-use desktop system. The specifications for the board state that there is an 8 GiB limit for the supported memory. However, when I viewed the J4105M Memory QVL, it shows entries for 16 GiB of memory. So will this board support up to 16 GiB and the specification statement is wrong? Or are those 16 GiB entries in the QVL incorrect and should NOT be there?

Thanks for your time responding.

The specification seems to come from intel's spec sheet for the J4105 (and all
Gemini Lake SoCs). A quick look around the web however revealed this:

https://develmonk.com/2019/08/02/asrock-j4105-itx-16gb-and-32gb-memory-configuration-tests/

I would imagine between this, other articles like it and the QVL list showing
16gb RAM modules as being compatible that you should be able to use up to 32gb
with the board.

I would guess that the support is "unofficial" but it seems legit.

Thanks Xaltar for the quick reply and the informative link. I'll go ahead and get a 16 GiB (2 ? 8 GiB) set of Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2400C14R as I'm seeing it on a good sale online. Hopefully I'll find the same outcome as our German friends.
