Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4?(2 x 16 GB) 3600 MHz?|?ASRock B550M Pro4

When I?enable XMP (3600 MHz, 18-22-22-42)?in the UEFI (1.42, dated six days ago), Windows doesn't boot for long before the system reboots itself.

e.g. if I leave it on the login screen, it'll reboot after 10-30 seconds. If I manage to log in, it'll reboot within a minute of logging in.

The system runs fine at DDR4 standard/stock?(2666?MHz) (20-19-19-43).

I've tried slots A2/B2 (recommended by manual) and A1/B1. No difference.

Any ideas?

Your ram is not on Asrock's approved list for your MB. https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B550M%20Pro4/index.asp#MemoryMS
And the memory spec for the 5600X is up to 3200Mhz. https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-5600x
I have the same problem with Corsair 3600Mhz ram and the B550 Phantom Gaming 4 MB. The best I can do is to manually set it to 3200Mhz.

In your bios set the ram speed to 3200Mhz, the FCLK (infinity fabric) clock speed to 1600Mhz, and your timings to Patriot's 3200Mhz ram. https://assets.website-files.com/5cdb2ee0b102f96c3906500f/5edfdbf75a54307eb4a706da_PVS432G320C6K%20Sku%20Sheet_Copyable_041620.pdf Tested Timings: 16-18-18-36

Save and boot to Windows. Check the ram speed with a program like CPU-Z or HWINFO64.

Would installing a higher speed RAM prevent a computer from getting to POST/BIOS, or would the system underclock it to an acceptable speed to boot up?

I may have made a similar mistake in that I got a 5600X and B550 Phantom ITX/AX along with 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX, and I can't get the build to even POST (no video output at all, and not even any mobo speaker beeps). That said, this could maybe be due to my mobo not yet having an updated BIOS that supports the Ryzen 5000 series?

If you have the correct bios on your MB for the 5600X, P1.20, then it should boot up with your ram at the default of 2133mhz.
There should be a sticker on the chipset on your MB that says what the current bios version is on your MB.
You need P1.20. https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550%20Phantom%20Gaming-ITXax/index.asp#BIOS
