X370 Gaming-ITX/ac won't boot after CPU upgrade.

   Hi all,

This is my motherboard:

I bought 3800XT based on the information here:

I updated BIOS to 6.60. I had it running with my 1600 for a few days without any issue.

Now that I installed 3800XT, the system won't boot. CPU and power supply fans will spin, and GPU lights will turn on, but no post. Monitor doesn't detect any signal from my PC. The system restarts after a few seconds to the same loop.

Now that I'm troubleshooting, I noticed that 3rd gen Ryzen XT CPUs are not on the supported CPU list:

I don't know if it's an oversight or Asrock made a mistake. The BIOS update page clearly stated 6.60 supports XT CPUs. It's why I bought 3800XT. But the supported CPU list made me confused.

Either way, assuming my motherboard does support 3800XT with BIOS 6.60, I've tried to reset CMOS, booting with 1 stick of RAM, unplugged all USB devices, etc. still no post.

Any help welcome. :)

	is the 3800XT new from a retailer? ..or did you buy used? ASRock's web page info doesn't make it crystal clear ..says 6.60 supports XT CPU's yet it's not on their CPU support list .. I can understand the confusion. Only thing I can suggest is taking CPU to friends or local Computer repair shop and see if they can throw your 3800XT in something to see if it posts .. there is the chance that you got a dead processor.. maybe.. One thing to try is popping the cmos battery out with power unplugged to the PC and then hold the power button down for a good 30 seconds to fully discharge any/all power from the motherboard .. usually just letting it sit for 5 minutes is plenty, but some have stated that it took longer for the BIOS to fully reset.. pop battery back in and put power back to the unit and then fire it up .. It might automagically come to life .. might not .. but worth a try if you haven't done that already ..it's a bit more thorough then just jumping the pins to reset CMOS. Before you do that, maybe even reseat the CPU and check for bent pins whilst it's out ..

	Thank you for the prompt reply, on Thanksgiving no less! I bought the 3800XT at Micro Center-- they had it on sale for $299. I know it's statistically far more likely that I bent the pins of the CPU than I received a dead CPU... but I really don't think so. I was careful in handling and the CPU just slotted right in without any friction. I had to google it to find out exactly where the CMOS battery is as the manual did not specify. I've followed your instructions and now I hope the BIOS will reset in full. Will report back.

	ThreeDee beat me to it, whenever you switch to a new CPU on the same motherboard it's always wise to fully clear CMOS. There are more detailed instructions here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal Hopefully that gets you up and running.

	Thank you! I unplugged CMOS battery. I will leave it for 4 hours. P.S. to clarify it's a brand new process I bought at Micro Center.

	I unplugged the CMOS battery for 3 hours then restarted. At first the PC didn't react AT ALL but then booted up without issue! I just put 3800XT in eco mode via Ryzen Master and I hope everything goes smoothly from here. Thanks guys. I wish the manual is clearer on BIOS reset and where the battery is. AFAIK the CMOS battery information was never mentioned in the manual. Just my 2 cents. Happy Thanksgiving~~

	Also, Asrock pls update the supported CPUs list for the motherboard! The BIOS update page says one thing and the list says another.

	Hi I?�m doing the same thing. X370 and Ryzen 7 3800 XT. When you updated your bios did you go from version to version or straight to the latest? Let me know I appreciate it!

	It's better if Asrock support staff answers this question. Do you have the same board as mine? It's been working fine for me, for what it's worth. No problem whatsoever.
