I recently bought a new build from Skytech, the Legacy 3.0 - with parts like gpu's being so hard to come by and price gouging, it just made sense to buy something already built. I inquired about the board prior to purchase, and confirmed it could handle and run the ram I was buying to upgrade (came with 16gb of ddr4-3000) - so everything should be good to go.
When I boot with the ram installed, xmp enabled, it freezes. If I manually go in and set the dram frequency to 3000 it boots fine and runs stable. Bios version P1.20 - the 4S has 1.40 out but since this is a one-off board 4S/AC - I don't believe I can flash to that newer version so not sure if that is the issue here or not. I would really like to be able to, at the very least, run this ballistix ram at 3200 - ideally would be able to OC. specs: asrock z390 phantom gaming 4s/ac intel i7 9700K PNY GeForce RTX 3070 8GB XLR8 Gaming REVEL EPIC-X RGB Triple Fan Edition Crucial Ballistix RGB 3200 MHz DDR4 CL16 BL2K16G32C16U4BL (2x16gb) windows 10 pro |

Hey there,
Try updating the BIOS to 1.21A, released August 2020. Just flashed it on my rig and it works fine. Not sure what all is fixed. I'm hoping it fixes my XMP problem where the system halts randomly. Time will tell. Enjoy! ftp://drivers.ibuypower.com/BIOS Filename: Z39G4SA1.21A |
