Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Memory: Viper Steel Series DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3200MHz Kit GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 5500 XT Phantom Gaming D 8G OC SSD: Seagate Firecuda 520 1TB M.2 PSU: SeaSonic M12II 850 SS-850AM 850W ATX12V PSU Monitors: 2x Viewsonic XG2405 (using Display Port) OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit I just put this system together this past weekend reusing the case and PSU from my previous system. Anything graphics intensive (games, FurMark GPU Stress Test) results in pixelation on both monitors, both screens will flash between all black and all white then the system will either completely freeze or restart. I have updated everything I could to the latest versions (MB BIOS, Chipset Drivers, Radeon Software/Drivers, Windows Updates, etc.). The MB BIOS is set to all basic defaults with no Overclocking of the CPU or DRAMM. I reseated the CPU, GPU, DRAMM and checked every connection inside the case. I swapped in my old Radeon R9 280 using the same slot and power connector without changing anything else and I cannot recreate the problem. Is there anything that can be done with the 5500 XT GPU, like a vBIOS update, changing MB BIOS settings or is it simply defective? |

Additional troubleshooting steps:
- Removed AMD Radeon software and drivers using AMD Cleanup utility - Installed latest AMD driver only using device manager - Set PCIE x16 slot to PCIe 3 Problem reoccurred while computer was idle and can be recreated using just the Dynamic Background 3D test in FurMark or launching any game. |

Just a follow up, support issued an RMA and replaced the GPU. I installed the new one and it's been running fine for a few days now with no issues.
Thanks!! |
