Hello!

I have Asrock Fatal1ty 990fx Killer motherboard.
I know this is not new item, but i like it.
I want ssd drive to m.2 slot.
My choice is Samsung Evo 970 Plus. This is good for my motherboard?

Thank You!

Good Luck!

Fresph,

According the specs for the motherboard, the M.2 slot will support PCIe Gen 2 X 2. That surely has to be faster than SATA. The Samsung EVO 970 is PCIe Gen 3 X 4. The ECO 970 should be backwards compatible to Gen 2. However, that does not guarantee the SSD is compatible with your motherboard. I would encourage you to look at the list of compatible SSD's for that model motherboard, and see if you can get one from that list.

If you decide to go ahead with that SSD, AND if it is not compatible with the M.2 slot, you can get a PCIe board that will accept the SSD. You should be able to get it to work using that method.
