I've got a 4 bay external enclosure, running on "single" mode (meaning all 4 drives show up individually). The motherboard has 5 SATA outputs, which are all used. To my understanding, the esata output acts as SATA port 6.
Problem is, that when I hook the enclosure up to the esata port, only one (1) of four (4) drives is recognized by both windows AND the BIOS (BIOS is running in Legacy mode at the moment, with AHCI enabled). Is this simply a limitation on the motherboard? Is this a symptom of not using UEFI? Am I missing something else? |
