so I bought a Samsung 2T 970evo plus SSD to upgrade my asrock b450m/ac (only takes one name m.2). I transferred files to a external HD and cloned my OS. After getting everything back together I was stuck booting from the os from the motherboard. I didn't see an option for installing from external HD.
so I removed the Samsung ssd and reinstalled the original 500gb ssd. after startup I was asked for my Microsoft pin and needed 2 factor verification. Well that usually would be fine. but I just changed jobs. I used my work phone and email for my 2 factor verification. is there another way? Microsoft is saying I have to wait 15 days now after changing my security phone number. |

sorry for the delay.
When using a microsoft account, you can set the pin, and this process is entirely handled by Microsoft, no way around it. In future, install with a local account, and don't use the Microsoft account. With Windows 10 you can always use a local account, just unplug the LAN cable or click "I don't have internet" Windows 11 is different, with the Home edition, you MUST use a Microsoft account, with the Pro version, you also use a local account |

Kind Regards
