I recently bought the H87M-ITX motherboard to replace my old motherboard, a Z87 extreme 4, because it was no longer working. My computer worked perfectly after replacing the motherboard, but after a month of use with the new motherboard I am having the exact same problem I was having with the old one. The computer turns on and all the fans turn on but it never posts. I have tried taking out all nonessential parts and nothing works, so I believe it is the motherboard again.
My parts are as follows MOBO: Asrock H87M-ITX CPU: intel i5 4670k, 6 MB cache, 3.4 Hz Memory: Corsair vengeance 8 MB 1600 Hz Video card: EVGA 780 FTW 3gb Operating system: windows 10 hard drive: intel ssd 240 gb, crucial ssd 128 gb, seagate HDD 1TB other parts: corsair H100i CPU water cooler Anyone having similar problems or any advice at all as to something that may fix this?

Welcome to the forums.
First up, what power supply are you using and have you tried another one. Given you have experienced the problem on a previous board that would be one of the first things I would check. The H87M-ITX has a smaller power design than the Z87 Extreme 4 so it may have been requiring less power than the original board but as the PSU worsens it may no longer be providing sufficient power to the system to post. If another PSU does not help then, with the new/other PSU connected to the system, try clear CMOS using this method. If that works and your system functions properly again you can try the old PSU again but personally I would just replace it if it is more than a few years old. |
