990fx Killer3.1 Boot from USB issues

   Hello.
I've just built my first PC and I can get as far as the UEFI setup. I have prepared a flash drive to install Windows 7. When I try to boot with that drive, I am left with a flashing cursor. No further progress is made. I have tried a number of different USB sockets with no success.

I've also tried a flash drive for Ubuntu. I get the same results.

What am I doing wrong?
