Hello Everyone,
I knew this might be an issue, but my second m.2 drive is not showing in my hard drive partitions. It is flat out not detected by my computer. Its a brand new m.2 ssd I've skimmed post in the pasts and thought I got a SSD that was compatible. For what its worth, in addition to my motherboard I have a EVGA 1080ti, an M.2 (first slot) ssd, a ryzen 2700x, and 4 sata drives. I know there was some confusion on what ASRock advertised, and even a misprinted manual, but is there any way to get this second drive to work? Even at slower speeds I dont mind, I just want it to work. If not I just want to know that no drive will ever work in that slot. Just looking for some finality on the subject. This is the new drive in question, if cant get it to work, I'll just return it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KFS6THF |

The M2_2 slot, only delivers 2 PCIE lanes, instead of 2, and when this slot is used PCIE5 slot is disabled.
Putting a Gen 4 M.2 is a waste of money, a Gen 3 is sufficient. You can crosscheck, if you put the new M.2 in the other slot to see if UEFI detects it or not, and put the old one in M2_2, to see if that is detected. |

Kind Regards

I assume you mean delivers 2 lanes instead of 4?
Also by waste of money do mean speed? or do you mean it flat out wont work. I just need to know in black and white if I can get this ssd to work or not. |
