I've spent multiple days trying to fix this now and I'm at my wit's end.

I've installed a B650E PG Riptide Wifi board in my system with a Ryzen 7 7700X and Nvidia RTX 3080. Every time I start the system with both of my monitors plugged in, the screens remain completely blank until windows is fully loaded. They don't recieve any signal at all.

I don't see a motherboard Splash screen, if I enter the BIOS I can't see to change any settings, and if I boot Linux my system is unusable because it doesn't fix things after loading up like Windows seems to.

If I start my system with only one monitor plugged in it works, but obviously this isn't ideal. I tried updating the BIOS to the latest version available, and all that has done is absolutely nuke my startup time: From 15 seconds to over a minute!!

At this point, all I've done is either waste my time or actively damage my experience now. Any advice on what I could do?

Hi

First of all I don't have any experience with Ryzen 7XXX nor ASRock AM5 motherboards.

Not knowing the specs of your GPU, monitors, cables or adapters used you can try:

1 - With only one monitor connected disable in BIOS the integrated graphics of your 7700X (if possible), save changes and make sure that both monitors are connected to your RTX 3080 and not to your motherboard.
2 - Check if both monitors are reset to default values, updated firmwares and try other cables or adapters to rule out problems.
3 - Check if your AIB Partner (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, KFA2, etc) or Nvidia FE offers a more recent VBIOS version.
4 - Open both request support to ASRock and AIB Partner GPU or Nvidia providing monitors make and models, cables or adapters used.

Good luck

1 - Integrated graphics is disabled, same issue unfortunately. My board does seem properly configured to favour the GPU over iGPU as well, as that's how I found dual monitors was causing it in the first place: I plugged one monitor into the board directly, and the one that was still connected to the GPU was the one that worked.

2 - Honestly, I didn't even know even Monitors had firmware! I have two AOC 24G2U5s, but I couldn't see anything about their firmware online. So I would assume there are no updates for either of them.
Tried alternate cables as well, no dice.

3 - This sent me down a period of some searching, particularly about the VBIOS, and it lead me to discovering this post that described a situation very similar to my issue!
Unfortunately I tried running the tool, and it said my GPU already uses this version... From what I could find from TechPowerUp, it seems I do have the very latest VBIOS available for my card.

4 - Support request was opened to ASRock directly before making this post. They linked the same article I found above. This is leading me to believe that this may entirely be an NVidia sided issue, which doesn't exactly inspire hope...
But hey, it at least gives me a direction to focus on.

If you don't believe this sounds like a motherboard issue at all, then I can at least now stop wasting my time elsewhere and go direct to Nvidia instead. Thank you for the help.

Searching around specifically looking at NVidia, rather than the B650 Chipset, got me the answers I needed.

This is an issue several small groups of 3080 users are facing, introduced after the Resizable BAR firmware version. Nvidia have released an update relating to it for 40 series cards, but have been completely silent about 30.
I guess I have no option other than to wait until they finally fix the issue themselves, but at least I now *know* there's nothing I can do and I can stop obsessing over it.

Again, thank you very much for giving me a direction to search. It's helped massively.
