My Z170 Extreme7+ Motherboard will not post when more than 2 memory slots are populated. (I am trying to run 2 sets of identical dual chanell kits)

Problem is that you are forcing the IMC of the CPU populating all banks on a Dual Channel board. With 2x8GB u r more than fine. But u can try...
Enter with 2 modules and go to System Agent Voltage add +0.20 If mem is 1.35 stock give 1.4 Add a third stick and try if it works add the fourth Kindly Sergio |

Hallo David,
I'm looking to build my next rig with the same configuration as yours, 6700K+ EXTREME7+ except that I would like to buy F4-3200C14Q-64GVK. So I'm very interested to know: 1. If you succeed in making your pc run with that ram kit ; 2. If you have a comparison rig and can you notice major inprovements ; I would use mine overclocked at 4.6 and I do not have time for tuning rams, so for me the ideal situation would be: a. set xmp to 3.2, b. overclock to 4.6 with the preset oc from the motherboard. Is that feasible? Thanks in advance for your helpful answers. Antonio |

My board (extreme 7+ skylake) is running 32gb total (4x 8gb) with the xmp profile running at 3200. Cpu is rock solid at 4600Mhz. Not sure about 64gb though.
