Hello Supportteam,

we are a small company, who is running his Proxmox-Server on the ROME2D16-2T Mainboard, together with this hardware:

??AMD EPYC 7453 2.75 GHz (28C/56T) cooled by Noctua CPU-Cooler NH-U14S
??8x Samsung 16 GB reg. ECC DDR4-3200 DIMM M393A2K40DB3-CWE
??Seasonic PRIME-PX-1000 Power Supply
??1x Asus Hyper M.2 X16 Gen 4 Card with 4x Western Digital WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD 1TB
??1x ASRock Hyper Quad M.2 PCIE GEN4X16 Card with 4x Crucial P5 Plus SSD 1TB, M.2
??2x Kingston KC2500 NVMe PCIe SSD 250GB, M.2 with passive Coolers
??1x Mellanox ConnectX-3 PCIe x8 NIC 10 Gigabit 10GBe SFP+ Dual Port Server MCX312A-XCBT

Proxmox itself is running on the two Kingston SSDs in RAID-1.
We use the rest of the NVME-SSDs on the expansion cards together with PCIe-Bifurcation from the motherboard as an ZFS-Pool for the systems running on our Proxmox-server.
Normally the machine is running fast, fine and smooth. But from time to time the server shuts down without any clue randomly at night and we have to restart it the next morning.

The server is behind an APC-USV, so no power problem, everything else in our server room is running normal, the logs on the server doesn?™t give us any information, it seems it crashes without any reason. Also, one time we wanted to reboot the server vie Proxmox-GUI and the server was shutting down normally, but didn?™t reboot. This time I couldn?™t start him again via power button, the FAN-LEDs on the mainboard were blinking on and off and I had to pull the power cord, to get him going again.

We use the latest BIOS/UEFI Version, tried different BIOS settings (CPU-power savings disabled) and even tried the Beta BMC-Firmware from your website.

Any suggestions or tips how we could solve our problem?

We think we fixed it, with the help of the ASRock Rack support.

So if anyone else faces the same problem, try to swap your psu, we swapped our seasonic psu with the seasonic psu from another server (lower wattage, different model), now both server are running fine.

It seems to be some strange compatibility problem, because since the swap both server with seasonic psu are running without problems.
