OK, I am relatively new to using m2 SSD's and I just purchased one. I have the B550am Gaming motherboard with one M2 spot. I have the crucial p3 1 TB NVMe drive and so far I am not getting any joy. I set all of the settings based on what I have found here but I read that it is not like any other drive configuration as in you can't just plug it in and it will show up as a drive.
I plugged it in after setting all the switches as I read from this forum. My machine will not boot. Once it is out then it is fine and will boot again. But I read that I have to have an installation ISO or disk, unplug my current C drive and reboot with the M2 installed, and install Windows from there. Is this true? Or am I just not seeing things right? I am computer literate, I have built plenty of computers. But with M2 drives, well, I am now John Snow and I know nothing. I am open to any suggestions as buying a brand new windows installation anything is a little out of my budget at the moment so it will have to wait. Kids have to eat more than I need a faster gaming PC. Thank you in advance! Biskut |
