I have an Intel i5 6600k Processor running at 3.5 stock with no over clock using a Z170A-X1 motherboard. I noticed the computer has started to run very slow and is unable to play any games. Even surfing the internet was slow and the computer crawls along. I finally found the issue and it seems others are having this as well after I did a quick search online.
After resuming from sleep mode the PC was resetting the processor speed to 800mhz. Even rebooting is not resolving the issue as the BIOS shows the i5 6600 running at 800mhz. I have updated the BIOS to its current version and all drivers are current also. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Welcome to the forums.
First up, clear CMOS. Once that is done could you check your temps for us, it sounds like it could be getting hot and throttling.
