Hello Guys,
if i playing Diablo 3 my fps drops down to 3 - 10 and its nearly unplayable. After some research, i saw that only 4 gb ram of my 8 gb are in use. I tried many things, uncheck maximal memory in msconfig, memtest, bios settings... but nothing changed. I have two Ram Slots and in both is the same RAM -> 4bg, 1600 MHZ, but dual channel mode is not activating automatically, like it should. After all, i have no ideas what i could do now. Here are some screens of my CPU-Z testing. Thanks for your help. http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016787/cpu.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016786/graphics.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016785/mainboard.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016788/memory.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016790/spd_1.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-31016789/spd_2.jpg.html |

To help others reading this post, the OP has an ASRock 960GM-VGS3 FX board with 1.30 BIOS, FX-8320 processor. http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GM-VGS3%20FX/ The memory make and model number are unknown, so no way to determine compatibility. The memory is running at 1600 (800MHz), which is an over clock for this board and processor. The video card is a 2GB GTX 960. Please tell us the full version of Windows you are using. For example, Windows 7 64 bit. We also need the full name and model number of your memory. |

What parsec asks for, and is there a reason you haven't already updated the BIOS to the much more recent 1.40 BIOS release?
Many times BIOS updates include memory information within that may, might, maybe, allow your two sticks to config as dual channel. Definitely something I'd have done right off the bat when encountering what you describe. |

Also, while I don't regularly make it habit to suggest BETA BIOSes, there is a rev. 1.41 BETA BIOS available if your up-flashing to the RELEASE(NON-beta) BIOS 1.40 doesn't accomplish running these unknown sticks of memory in DC.

I'm updated my bios to 1.40 now, but nothing changed. My Windows Version is Windows 7 Professional N 64 Bit. But i dont know what model my Ram is, there is no information in cpu-z or on the ram itself. I did some pictures of the ram.

I'd like for you to remove both sticks and then Clear(not simply push to reset) your BIOS. Your manual instructs the proper procedure.
Afterwards, seat both sticks and boot the computer. If prompted, enter the BIOS and Save the current setting, letting it boot, hopefully, into the OS and run in DC. Keep me posted. |

As you said, i removed the sticks and sets the jumper in 2 and 3, for 5 seconds, for clearing the cmos and then back to 1 and 2. Like written in the manual. After restart i'd entered the bios but my settings didn't changed, did i something wrong? So all in all nothing changed.

It's getting slim pickings for 990FX MB's as AMD will "supposedly" release it's Zen "Intel Slayer" silicone soon.
If you can't wait till then or your budget doesn't allow, considering you already have an 8320, any 990FX based board: Extreme4 , Extreme9 , or the Killer 3.1 But IMO, stick with a 990FX board. Pick your manufacturer. Yet nothing less for your 8320 or you might have regrets and headaches. |
