Built a new configuration with:
MB ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac CPU Core i7 6700K REM 2*8GB DDR4 G.SKILL TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZ (paired, officially supported by the MB) PSU Seasonic G550 (550W) SSD Samsung 950 PRO M.2 512GB (NVME) Rad Cooler Master Hyper 212X (CPU stay cool) Nothing overclocked, (RAM at 2133MHz, not 3200MHz) BIOS 2.10, HDMI firmware up-to-date (1.36 I think) Tried both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 7 Pro (this one difficult to install using USB 3.0 key and nvme SSD but I finally succeeded), mostly no problem except the PC FAILED TO DISPLAY ANYTHING but garbage then green screen when waking-up. Exactly same result on both OS, fully updated, tried both the ASRock distributed Intel graphic driver and latest Intel Graphic driver, same result. Tried on two different Dell screens (HDMI 1920x1200 & 1920x1080), same result too. Problem disappear when removing one of the 2 RAM sticks, but MemTest86 finds no error checking memory while both sticks are plugged. Windows isn't stalled on wakeup, I can blindly enter my password, displayed garbage changes, disk LED blinks and logon is done, then I can do a clean shutdown shortly pressing the power button (no complain for bad shutdown when turning power on again). Any idea ? I'd appreciate a quick answer because I have 10 days left to return some/all hardware to Amazon without proving there's a defect (french law apply). Thank you for reading. My mobo does the same thing.
Try Bios v1.8. ASRock support recommended this to me and it seems to work for me. Also, make sure you do not remove power from the monitor while asleep. I have 2x Crucial ram, I have not tried using one stick. But Bios 1.8 works while 2.1 gives me a screen of garbage when the computer wakes. Let me know if this works for you.

I'm having a similar issue. Although Im not to sure what could be causing it.
Specs: Motherboard: Asrock fatal1ty z170 gaming itx/ac CPU: Intel 6700K Ram: Corsair Vengeance 3200 Mhz SSD: Samsung 950 Pro 512 M.2 PSU: Corsair AX760 GPU: MSI 1080 Sea Hawk OS: Windows 10 Pro BIOS version: 2.30 PC starts up fine after OS install. Goes to sleep and wakes up fine too, however if I switch my PC off completely and wake up the next day to switch it on I get a dead screen. Boots into windows fine but my screen doesnt pick up my GPU at all so I have to wait a few seconds until I think my PC is on the desktop then I press the power button to turn off the PC. Have to clear CMOS button at the back of the motherboard to resolve the issue. Then rinse and repeat every time I turn off my machine. Please can anyone assist.

I upgraded to v2.3 last week and my pc sleeps and wakes fine.
I will shut it down over the next few nights and see if I have any problems starting it in the morning. Give me a few days and I'll report back. |

FYI: My PC started up just fine after being turned off all night.
I would clear CMOS, reset all defaults in BIOS, then change what you need to change. Also, select external graphics in BIOS, not internal. |
