Dear,

I got some issues with a Asrock C2550d41 mobo.
I flashed the latest bios and got stuk now on initializing system message in console.

I'm using Hynix memory 4 x 8 gig ECC (HMT31GR7BFR4A-H9)
Because i see the screen booting up i suspect the memory is fine.
I also tried it out with only 1 bank (in the right slot) but to the same result

Anyone got anything on how to solve this

I also got some samsung banks laying around but didnt got up to it to place them. (M393B1K70CHD-CH9)
Would this make a difference?

I also tried the erase bios trick with removing all power including the battery to reset everything but that also didnt make a difference.

Thanks in advance for helping out.

So I understand this correctly, you have this problem after updating to the latest 2.30 BIOS version, but you did not have this problem with the previous BIOS version, is that correct?

If that is true, it seems that the board is completing POST, but you cannot get past the initialization of the BMC?

I see that there is a BMC update whose date is the same as the 2.30 BIOS. Did you also update to the 00.27.00 BMC version?

I'm not sure if both the BIOS and BMC must be updated at the same time, but given your situation, that seems to be the case.

If the board is completing POST and then not starting the BMC, changing the memory likely won't make any difference.

You understood correctly but I didnt explain enough I think.
I updated the BMC and BIOS at the same time (or actually with little time in between)
It didnt work before the update of the bios and it only gave a black screen.

Now with the new bios version i get the "waiting for BMC" countup to 04 and then it freezes. With a reset it says "system initializing" and stops.
I got it working (to update the bios) with a NON-ECC memory kit.
Now i did read that there is some bios reset program and the change from NON-ECC to ECC memory goes wrong sometimes (propably due to different voltage and timings)
I tried now 4 different brands of ECC memory that were leftovers from Dell servers.
I also found Memory modules on E-Bay that were almost the same in the timings (CL9) that should work (cannot confirm but it stated on the header that they were ment for the board altough they are not in the official list)

I did some investigation with the memory VQL list and found out that both CL11 timings and CL9 times modules are in the list. Also NON-ECC and ECC memory.

So basicly the board works but I want to use these memory banks and hope that there is some trick I didnt read about on the Internet on reseting and making these memory modules work.
