Hello everyone. I have Asrock X99 Extreme 4 3.1 with Xeon E5-2696v4. There are 2 weird things going on.
1. The latest bios reports that the CPU has Turbo boost 3.0 (tho Intel official does not mention it), so I can enable it, then it even displays in device manager, but any Intel TB3.0 maxx driver fails to load (this device cannot start error). Is there a valid driver or what is going on? 2. The turbo acts weird in general. - If I enable VT-X in bios I lose chunk of performance and many turbo bins for no reason. - If I leave it disabled it runs fine, but the turbo fails to maintain itself when GPU is loaded. If I load only CPU, it scales as it should, but once GPU is loaded the CPU always falls to its base turbo (2,8Ghz), even if its a single thread load. I have tried fiddling with bios a lot but it would not budge, still acting this way. I know this CPU is not on the official support list, but it is pretty much just OEM version of E5-2699v4, and the board recognized it correctly. Any ideas? |
