Hello ASRock community, request your valuable assistance.
![]() My motherboard model ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 is equipped with 7.1 CH HD Audio which I never used it before. Because my LG DVD/CD Receiver (model LG LH-T6345D, 5.1CH) stopped worked (reason which I don't know yet, maybe the amplifier), I was thinking to connect its speakers with computer. So I want to make sure, is there any way to make these speakers work again, even on stereo mode 2.1CH? Do I need any amplifier? Or they can work as full 5.1CH, using only 3.5mm audio connectors directly into rear panel of PC, without any amplifier? On image below are the LG LH-T6345D's parameters. http://i.imgur.com/eir1RfH.png Thank you for your time, |

Using non-powered home stereo speakers, you would need and amp to power them.
Instead of an amp, it'd be cheaper in the long run, IMO, assuming you're fixing the LG, to buy a decently priced 2.1 home theater speakers in a box till the LG comes back. Then move them to the kids. Or your bedroom if you have a TV there. |

Hi wardog,
Thanks for your idea. I'll think on that. Just to clarify, regarding 7.1CH Audio feature, in what scenario I can use it efficiently? If I'll use something like this: http://goo.gl/VqTYFk Should I get full 5.1CH audio? thanks |

C'mon man Stop trying to cheap out. I understand your predicament but ........No. That you linked will not work. What you linked appears to be a powered converter, not a powered amp. No way that little box IMO is an amp. Too small and no, NO, effort at heat dissipation. |
