Hi, just in case it helps someone:
I built a system with the EP2C602-4L/D16 MB, two Xeon E5 2760 CPUs, two HyperX FURY 8 GB DDR3 1866 MHz, and a Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 750Ti 2GB PCI-E GPU (just to get an HDMI port). My first problem was a totally dead system -- it turned out to be the GPU, apparently the board is not compatible with some PCIe GPUs. (I tried various PCIe settings, like bus protocol version, no joy.) Anyhow, with a different GPU in, it boots fine; my next problem was random crashes and reboots. It would run for an hour, or 5 hours, or something, and then either spontaneously reboot, or just lock up. I couldn't see anything relevant in either the BIOS logs or Windows logs. It seems this was due to Windows 10 -- apparently it's not compatible with this MB. I saw in another forum where people with the same issue fixed it by installing Windows 7 to replace 10; I installed Linux, and it works fine now. (I've been running for a couple of days.) I have Windows 7 on order. So it looks like Windows 10 is just no go, but frustratingly it SEEMS to work and then just crashes on you. Hope this helps! |

This is the first time I've noticed Windows 10 not to be compatible. Yet if you look in the Downloads section of this board, sure enough, Windows 10 is not supported. For what reason I don't have a clue yet it isn't. http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=EP2C602-4L/D16#Download Odd. |

Thanks for the info. Being an enterprise solution windows 10 support was likely not much of a concern as most people using this type of product tend to favor server OSes over consumer versions.
As to your issue with the 750ti, did you try a BIOS update? The latest BIOS update for that board state "improved PCIe compatibility". I can't be sure as I don't have that board to test but it may also improve windows 10 compatibility. That said, if you are happy with windows 7, I wouldn't bother. I still have not upgraded my own systems to win 10 and likely only will once DX 12 game titles become more mainstream and start lacking DX 11 support. Not that I am much of a gamer but I do like to be able to test all the latest in game benchmarks and such.

Yes, I saw that... but my board was already running the latest BIOS (1.80) and BMC (0.18.0). Thanks anyhow! And yes, Windows 10 wasn't for any particular reason, just it was the default. Windows 7 wil be fine for me. |

Ahhhh, I believe after some Googling that MS limited logical cores in the differing edition of Windows 10.
