Hello Guys

I recently bought the ASRock H170M Pro4 togehter with a M.2 SSD (Crucial MX300) and two WD 2TB HDDs.
I have now the problem, that my system only recognize one of the two HDDs (the one connected to the port sata3_1).
The HDD connected to the port sata3_0 does not show up. In  the BIOS i see, that the M.2 SDD occupies this slot.
In the manuel and on the product site (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H170M%20Pro4/?cat=Specifications) it says: "If M2_1 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 will be disabled."
So i guess thats the reason why my second HDD not shows up (in BIOS and Diskmanager). But i wonder why my HDD on port sata3_1 gets regonized when it says "SATA3_0 AND SATA3_1 will be disabled"?
Is it even possible to run a system with 2 (Sata 3)HDDs and an OS System drive with this MoBo? Maybe with a PCI-Express SSD or can i tweak some settings and still use the M.2 SSD i bought?

Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thx xela

Dear xela6078,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

H170M Pro4 Ultra M.2 Sockets support type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s).

The M.2 slot is shared with SATA3_0 and SATA3_1, so if M2_1 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 will be disabled.

We would suggest connecting HDD to other SATA ports except for SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 when using M.2 device.

The link to this model specification is below.

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD
