Helllo,
I`m having problems with my network. I`m pretty sure there is no problem with my internet provider. I always get a request timed out from time to time using ping in cmd, The request timed out length is pretty constant but the interval between the time outs are random. I've also tried downloading the latest driver for my network driver. |

Most often this problem is caused by weak signal somewhere between your ISP an your PC. If you are using a wired connection and a router in your home then you can check your LAN cables, if one is damaged or has dirty connectors on the RJ45's pins (the plastic connections) then you can clean or replace them with new cables. If you are using a wireless hookup you can try moving the wireless antenna and seeing if you can get better signal strength. Typically however the problem isn't in your home and is the result of poor cables/wireless signal elsewhere in the ISP's route to your home/office.
I have seen this problem many times from sub standard ISPs and in rural more remote areas. Pings will seemingly be good with fast responses under 100ms then suddenly a string of 4 or more timeouts followed by one or 2 really long responses usually in the 1000+ms range and then back to sub 100. More often than not it occurs on cable/LAN internet where cable lengths are beyond the recommended without the use of repeaters or signal boosters. If it is causing you significant problems then contact your ISP and request they check the cables/wireless to your area.
