Hi, I purchased the ASRock Z170 Gaming i7 motherboard last year but am just now completing my build.

The problem is: When I turn on my computer it goes into a repetitive on for 10 or so seconds then off, repeat. I see Dr. Debug 19

I saw this is a memory issue. I initially had 4 sticks of memory inserted. I tried removing two sticks and left two sticks in A1 & B1 and tried again. Same issue. I tried just two sticks in A2 & B2 slots and same issue.

My memory is on the supported memory list.

GSkill TridentZ F4-3400CL16D-16GTZ

I also know that my bios will need updated as well because I purchased the Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80677I77700K Desktop Processor but I never get to the bios screen so I am still unable to update my bios.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

You cannot post with an unsupported CPU, that is the problem. It flags as error 19 because the memory controller in the Kaby Lake CPU is different to Skylake.

You will need to either borrow/buy a compatible CPU and update the BIOS or order a new BIOS chip from ASRock.

Thank you Xalter. Crap.. I saw that the Kaby lake could be used with the 7.3 version bios and it was only $10 more on Newegg than the Skylake but did not think that I would not be able to get to the bios in the first place. My bad.

Anyone have a cheap working 1151 processor for sale to get me booted up so I can get into the bios? If so message me please.

Thanks

Do ya one better.

Use either Contact below, explaining your Kaby Lake with pre-Kaby BIOS and thedy may send you a pre-flashed BIOS chip for free. Or, and still cheaper than buying a processor, they may charge you $15.00 USD

Thank you Wardog. I called and a woman named Daisy answered and said she would send me a new bios chip. She was very nice.

I'm excited. I hope it doesn't take too long. lol
