Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac
CPU 7700K Corsair DDR4 memory (dual channel) CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 LSPCON latest firmware (1.61) Win 10 with all updates. Latest BIOS and drivers from ASRock website. PC is connected on HDMI2, through HDCP 2.2 pre-amp, to HDCP 2.2 display. I'm having two problems when bitstreaming audio. 1. I cannot get any HD Audio formats (e g DTS MA or Dolby TrueHD) to play. Have tried many different players and files. None of them work. I simply get no sound. Pre-amp status for sound signal format says "Unkown". If I play lossy Dolby Digital or DTS it works OK. Also, if I use HDMI1 all formats work so there is nothing wrong with the software. But HDMI1 does not support HDCP 2.2 so I cannot play Netflix 4K or UHD Blu-ray (and only get 30 fps) with this port. Is this a known limitation of LSPCON used for HDMI2? 2. When playing Spotify or Tidal I sometimes get no sound at all. Sometimes it starts working if I stop/start the track. But sometimes I have to switch source on the display (essentially restarting the HDMI connection) or even restart the PC to get it working. Although it is not the same problem as in this thread: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4120&title=z170-gamingitx-ac-loses-audio-on-hdmi2-4k I cannot help to think that they might be related... Has anyone got this working properly? |

To anyone with similar problems. I reinstalled Intel HD Graphics and got it semi working. Really
strange as I had already reinstalled it once before and that did not
help. But it's still not 100% stable... I get random audio drop outs now
and again when using Spotify and Tidal (PCM). But strangely bit
streaming DTS MA and TrueHD now seems to work fine. To be honest I think
the Intel HD Graphics and/or LSPCON firmware needs some further
developments/updates...

Looks like there is a 1.65 firmware for the LSPCON. |
