Hi, all!

My single problem with this board is the one on the subject: the box refuses to boot unless there's a monitor attached. The motherboard was purchased to be a headless server, so needless to say this is no good.

I've already set the default video card to be the onboard device on the BIOS, and I've scoured for any other setting that might suggest overlooking the lack of display device.

Beyond that, the box is working flawlessly and exactly as intended... though this is a bit of a problem since the box's final "living space" will be quite out of reach, so I'll need to be able to reboot it for kernel updates without having a monitor handy.

Thoughts?

I need this too with a J3455 board. I don't understand why they would prevent booting in the first place.

My thoughts are that ASRock needs to patch the BIOS to allow this.

Dear Goatboy73,

Thank you for choosing ASRock and contacting us.

Regarding your case, we have built a system in our lab, and system can boot up properly without monitor connected.

Please note, if the system boot up without monitor, the default output will display at D-sub port.

Dear Tonykara,

Please provide the model name of your board for us to clarify the problem.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

I confirm that Q1900M Pro3 with latest firmware freezes on boot in CSM disabled case without any monitor connected. It can be the same bug.

I recently bought a Q1900M board from Asrock. Unfortunately I also found that the board cannot be booted without a monitor. The computer has the latest UEFI firmware version that is available on the website. I tried 5 times. Every time I reset the UEFI to rule out an error in the configuration. I installed the latest version of Proxmox on the computer with Linux Kernel 5.3. The computer cannot boot without a monitor in UEFI mode. The only way to boot the computer without a monitor is on UEFI BIOS with the CSM switched on. in UEFI mode without CSM not possible. Since the board is still being sold I would like to know if there will be an update that fixes this bug? Since I am still right to return, I would like to know that otherwise I would send the board back to Amazon.
