Sorry for the long delay... been having lots of fun.
@wardog Yes, Windows 10 x64 @parsec are the usb drivers in the INF driver ver:10.1.1.38 package? So the other night I ran Driver Verifier. It crashed about 20 seconds after I logged in with a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED crash. Great success! So I attempted to turn it off and check my crash log... turns out nothing could stop this cycle of crashing 20 seconds after every log in AND it didn't appear to make a crash dump. Not System Restore (both restore points failed), not cmd line resetting of DV, used all the restore options except for reinstalling over everything but my documents. So I decided that instead I'd just go ahead and do a fresh install on my SSD. And I did last night. Fresh W10 and I've installed the following:
Was happily setting things this morning when BAM,
Hadn't turned on minidumps yet, but here's the crash log. Very frustrating. I'll try the drivers when you confirm them. This install is a nearly blank state so I'd like to sort this out finally. |

I use an ASRock Z97 Extreme6 board, which is no different in the basic chipset and features. I have never had a problem with BSODs with this PC. If you did an MSoft upgrade installation to Windows 10 from 8, they are not known for their great stability. A fresh installation of Windows 10 is what I would do. Your installation will be activated automatically without entering a product key. Otherwise... Are you doing any kind of memory or processor over clocking? The ASMedia SATA chipset in your board is the same as the one used in the latest ASRock boards. Try the ASMedia SATA driver from a Z270 board's page, from the main mother board page. For example: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z270%20Extreme4/index.asp#osW1064 The Intel networking driver can be updated to the version found on the same download page, or the latest version directly from Intel (sorry the forum link tool does not work with some URLs): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=83418 A BSOD from the Intel network driver would be an extraordinary event, I have never seen that happen in using it for years with every Intel chipset since the G45 boards. That again points to a less than perfect upgrade installation. Windows 10 only uses the Microsoft native USB 3.0 driver, which is the USBXHCI.SYS driver in your post. Your board has USB 3.0 ports provided by both the Intel chipset, and an ASMedia chipset. You can try the ASMedia USB 3.0/3.1 driver from the Z270 board's download page above. |

Yes I'm still getting crashes. Going to try and run Driver Verifier tonight to see if I can narrow the problem down.

Those three. Just to make sure, those don't represent any add-on cards do they? Instead, all are MB devices? Too, please list out your systems components incl'ing Make and Model/Kit numbers, and include how old the PSU is also. |

Hello,
I've been attempting to track down the source of a series of persistant BSODs that I've had since I started using this mobo. It started when I built the computer, running W8, updated to W10, still getting these:
Tracing these down (in another forum, jumped through nearly all the usual hoops) it usually implicates a windows kernel (ntkrnlmp.exe) so it's originating somewhere else... Very frustrating and difficult to track. Using kernel dumps, the following drivers have been implicated as possible issues:
I believe I have updated all my software to the most current available for this mobo. I have the most current bios (2.5), and updated it helped it crash less frequently. My questions are
Thanks! |
