Long story short, I think my rig is stable now. Thanks wardog and parsec for helping me.
Results: Radeon HD7079 + GSkill 2133MHz = PASS NVidia 980Ti + GSkill 2133MHz = FAIL (Deadlock + Dr Debug 00) NVidia 980Ti + GSkill 3200Mhz (XMP2.0) = PASS In the end, all I had to do is enable XMP. ![]() |

Nope.. still hanging.. removed the GTX980Ti and installed a Radeon HD7970.
The 00 problem started to occur again (before the Radeon installation). Two steps backwards.

Researching about the symptoms I found some people had hang issues when PCI Express Power Management was activated in Windows.
So I went to Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change advanced power settings > PCI Express > Link State Power Management and set it to off. Too early to say for sure, but no hangs for the last 40min. Ill give you guys a feedback. |

Google what the graphics driver is behaving. It could be simply the graphics driver. Sure beginning to appear as such to me anyways. Download a different driver revision and retry. I know, PITA. But there are always that one revision that others post of that simply refuses to cooperate with a card or three. While you do that, give me the mem Kit's full part/model number and I'll rut around with that and see what I can unearth from here. |

Thank you guys for your quick responses.
wardog 1. Yeah I did install W10 in EFI Mode 2. I'm not sure about this one, but I do think so. 3. Yeah, after I saw that my CPU temps wasn't showing correctly in BIOS, I realize that there is a new beta BIOS (1.34) and update to that. After you made this point, I downgraded to 1.31 and the PC started to boot correctly after a regular shutdown. Then, I decided to do a new clean install following yours and parsec tips. Windows installed correctly. Then I installed ME and INF. Then NVidia drivers, that installed correctly this time (no reboots). I started to think that everything was finally fine, until I open this thread to thank you and the Windows completely froze. I cant even hard reset. I had to shutdown the PC in the PSU switch. Then I started to think that could be the PSU, cos it is a brand new HX1000i. So I change it with my old HX750. Again, Windows hang in the middle of my response to this topic. I started to think that the GPU could be the problem. So I run a furmark benchmarck without any problems. Now the computer is randomly freezing. No BSOD, just hang. I think I will try another VGA. Parsec, I didn't ask about this in Windows forums. By turn off I mean a regular shutdown in Windows, leaving PSU On. The psu is brand new, but, as I said, I already tried another one. |

The driver update "feature" of Windows 10 update is terrible, I disable that during the Windows 10 installation configuration step that happens after the restart. Never use the Express installation configuration settings. I do not connect the network cable during a Windows 10 installation, and don't connect it until I install all the drivers first, including the video drivers. Did you install any of the basic Intel software and drivers yourself? Such as the chipset/INF files, and the Intel Management Engine software? Both are essential for an Intel mother board. When the Nvidia video driver is installed manually, when it is complete it requests a restart of the PC. So the "random reset" you said happens, might (should) be Windows 10 restarting the PC after the driver installation, in a very unfriendly way for the user. That is, unless the video driver installation fails, and keeps failing. Or if the restart for the driver installation is ignored by Windows 10, you use the driver without a restart, with who knows what result. I have an Nvidia type GPU, and install its driver myself. Never any problems on my ASRock Z270 GK6 board. Have you asked about this issue with Windows 10 in the Microsoft forum? You then changed to the Intel iGPU. Did you install the Intel VGA driver? When you say you "turn off" the PC, what does that mean? A Windows shutdown? If so, do you leave the PSU power on? POST code 00 means a dead CPU, or that is displayed if no power is supplied to the CPU, as if the 4/8 pin CPU power cable was not connected. If you remove power from the PSU, and then apply it again, the CPU works, meaning it gets power from the PSU. Have you ever used the PSU in another PC? Is it new for this PC? |
