Hi everyone, I'm new here (and newb to PC build ).
From last week till now, I've ordered R5 1600x + Asrock X370 Fatal1ty Gaming K4 + AM4 bracket (soon)
Now looking at motherboard, Asrock X370 Fatal1ty Gaming K4, I have trouble choosing ram from my local store. Which one will you guys pick for my setup to get highest possible ram speed (aiming for 2933mhz at least up to 3200mhz for future BIOS update)?
I've tried to look at compatible QVL list, none of them are on the list. Or do I understand it wrong? Any feedback will be heartily much appreciated, and really hope to hear which one will you pick for my current build? |

from what i researched the trick is to find the ones garenteed to be samsung b dies
at 3200 speed the only ones i found to be 100% were 3200c14 and 3200c15 i used f4-3200c15d-16gtz and they plugged directly into 3200 xmp profile (taichi board) im not sure all the 3200cl16 are definately samsung b dies (some are d or e dies) from my research i would also avoid the rgb as im reading quite a lot of reports of the rgb breaking on ryzen boards from all different brands maybe its a bug with voltage or something with early bios |

heres my stable
gskill rymem validation link http://valid.x86.fr/421saw as for timings for the corsair i would use old skool tricks and take a look at the offerings at 3200 from corsair and give them a try be aware though having faster speed and much looser timings can actually perform worse eg in extreme 2993 cl16 may be faster than 3200 cl20 |

For a new PC builder, I would not select any of the models you have listed. Particularly if you want to run the memory at high speeds. Ryzen is a very new system, and memory compatibility is the biggest issue so far. All the memory you have listed was designed for Intel systems. Some of the memory will work with Ryzen, but you must configure the memory manually, and there is no guarantee you will get it to work above 2133- 2400. The G.SKILL FlareX 3200 memory that was designed for Ryzen cannot go above 2933, with the current UEFI/BIOS versions of my ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac board. New information and code from AMD is still being provided to mother board manufactures for memory compatibility. All I'm trying to tell you is you cannot buy random DDR4 memory and expect it to work perfectly at high speeds in any Ryzen system. If you don't have experience building and configuring the UEFI/BIOS in a PC, you need to go with memory that is known to work with Ryzen. |
