I just bought and installed a new Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 Mobo. The ram is 16 GB 2 - GSkill DDR4 3600 F4-3600C17D-8GTZ (from Asrock approved list). I want to set the speed at max rating which is 3600. Please tell me exactly how to setup the BIOS to achieve 3600 (CPU is at OC 4.7 MHz). Much thanks

All you need to do is enable your XMP profile and it should set the RAM to it's rated speed. You can do this in 3 ways.
1. The simplest is turning on the XMP switch on your motherboard, it is located at the bottom left corner of the board looking at your system as it stands on your desk. 2. In the UEFI when in easy mode there should be an option to enable XMP on the RAM tab 3. In UEFI when in Advanced mode -> OC Tweaker -> RAM Configuration -> Enable XMP I have the same board but different RAM (16gb Corsair 3600) and all I did was turn on the XMP switch and my RAM's XMP profile was loaded perfectly. If you have any issues, post back.

Thanks for quick reply....I tried option 2 / option 3 and set on XMP profile 1 and left the other settings at Auto....didn't work....I then set from auto to DDR4 3600 and still no higher settings. I'm confused because, I just upgraded from a Z170 Extreeme K7+ and it had no problems setting the speed to 3600. Does option 1 setting the Mobo switch do anything different? I guess I'll try it if it does something differently....again, thanks for quick reply. I'm using CPU-Z to verify settings and this board is stubborn. I'm using BIOS P1.1 by the way...did you upgrade to a higher release?

I am using beta 1.19b, I haven't bothered updated as my system is running flawlessly and I don't believe in flashing unless there is some benefit to doing so
![]() If you do update then go with 1.3 and use the instant flash method. If you want optane support you can go with 2.0 but I believe that is all it adds over 1.3.

Thanks for reply.... I also started having a few BSOD Clock_Watchdog_Timeout errors after upgrading to Windows 10 Creator Update 15063. I updated BIOS to 2.02 and I stopped getting BSOD.

Windows 10 Creator is still in Preview. If it's like _all_ the other Preview releases..... Good luck. Self-flagellation isn't in my personal bag.
The only good thing is with this release AMD is working closely with Microsoft to iron out AM4/Ryzen/Ryzen II issues before Ryzen II is released |

I've also read that Microsoft does not recommend installing the Creators Update version as a fresh, new installation. Not sure why that is the case, and not sure if the OP did it that way. |
