We did another test for you, using HD7870 and i5-3570K and the system can run at GEN 3 properly.

Since we can work properly on our side, we provide some suggestions to you.
1. Please use Windows 7/8.1 to verify.
2. Please use another CPU to verify.
If the problem still, please contact the local dealer where you bought the boar for hardware further check.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Kindest Regards,
ASRock TSD

Hello, thx for reply but i made few tests:

Screenshot 1 - HD7870:
BIOS auto - GPU-Z show PCIE 3.0 @ x16 1.1 (benchmark = PCIE 3.0 @ x16 2.0) why not in 3.0?
BIOS gen2 - GPU-Z show PCIE 2.0 @x16 2.0 (benchmark = PCIE 2.0 @x16 2.0)
BIOS gen3 - doesn't boot (5 beeps, black screen and nothing)

AMD HD7870

Screenshot 2 - MSI GTX 970 Gaming:
BIOS auto - doesn't boot (5 beeps, black screen and nothing)
BIOS gen2 - GPU-Z show PCIE 2.0 @ x16 2.0 (benchmark = PCIE 2.0 @ x16 2.0)
BIOS gen3 - doesn't boot (5 beeps, black screen and nothing)

MSI GTX 970 Gaming

1. Please install the graphics card to PCIE2 slot. - checked and work but in PCIE 2.0 @ x4 2.0 (x4 for GTX 970...don't need to say that isn't satisfying me)
2. Please clean the gold-finger on graphics card. - checked
3. Please check there's any bent or broken pin in CPU socket. - checked
4. If possible, please use another CPU and memory to verify. - can't check cose i don't have CPU on socket 1155

In my opinion, there are 2 options:
1. z77 pro3 isn't compatible with i5 3570k
2. z77 pro3 isn't compatible with PCIE 3.0 (bios fix needed)

I will be glad for answer, maybe for new BIOS or any other clues...

Kindest Regards,
Jaros?aw Pude?ko

Greetings, this is ASRock Technical Support Department.

We have tested GTX970 on Z77 Pro3, the graphics card can run at PCIE3.0 as BIOS P2.10 default.

In your case, we provide some suggestions to try:
1. Please install the graphics card to PCIE2 slot.
2. Please clean the gold-finger on graphics card.
3. Please check there's any bent or broken pin in CPU socket.
4. If possible, please use another CPU and memory to verify.

Kindest Regards,
ASRock TSD

Hello, msi gtx 970, intel i5 3570k, z77 pro3 - this is my specification. I cant run my gtx 970 in pcie 3.0, computer doesn't boot if i type gen3 or auto in bios (5 beeps and nothing). If i change it in bios on gen2 the computer run perfectly. Why the pcie 3.0 doesn't work?

I tried on bios: 1.8, 1.9, 2.10, 2.10A... same problem on all revisions.

intel i5 3570k is the 3rd generation processor so it schould work fine in pcie 3.0...so whats the problem? any clues?

Thanks for future respond...
