Hello,
I am trying to get an understanding of the various BIOS versions as well as the AGESA versions for this board. The one I have shipped with P1.4, and I have not had any issues so far except for the RAM downclocking to 2133. Will the P2.5 update bring any imrpovements over 1.4? I'd like to get things running as they were designed to, however I'm hesitant to flash a BIOS considering all of the bricking issues I've seen. Thanks! Also, system is- R5 1400 (stock) RX 570 (1345/2000mhz) Team Vulcan 8GB 2666 (clocked @ 2133) |

does version 1.4 have the internet/usb flashing option ?
if so i would really advise updating to latest it has far more skill and experiance built into the coding of the bios (and also i think im right in saying allthough 1.4 can work with ryzen 1400 only the later versions really make it comfy with the ryzen 5) |

1.4 does have instant flash and internet flash. Does 2.5 have the bricking issues though? That is my main concern. Also, if I do the instant flash option, do I just extract the actual bios file from here (the AB35P4_2.5 file inside all of the folders) and drop it on a flash drive not inside any folders?

download the 'bios' file not the 'dos' file
extract it copy files onto a usb drive (stick to 4gb/8gb or an older smaller one) and reboot either hit the key for instant flash on start up screen (f6 or something) or just hit del and enter bios now the bricking issues if following the plan it isnt in any way risky heres the plan enter bios reset everything to bios default/auto/safe settings whatever its called save and exit reenter bios check all is set to stock defaults then hit the flasher option and follow instructions let it do its thing and exit bios when told to do so reneter bios on reboot check its seeing hd/ram etc and has installed latest bios version number and save and exit again now reboot into windows or into bios to do some fine tuning the main issues with bricking boards are windows based flashing programs (these are a real no-no) failure to actualy set bios to default settings first and the last most uncontrollable is a power cut or fuse board tripping while your flashing (so no flicking kettle on while its flashing and best to get them pesky kids out the house also ,make sure the electric meter is fully charged etc ) |

or just internet flash ..............
it should run a checksum on new bios file before erasing anything to make sure the download is not corrupt |
