Boot Loop issues can be due to RAM but that seemed to being mainly an issue with 1st gen ryzen cpu's. You do not specify which gen CPU you are using but each generation of CPU seems to be less ram finicky than the prior. Why are you holding back on the bios upgrades if I might ask. A lot of time I would upgrade the bios to fix crashing during POST. Other things that can cause a boot loop are PSU and Video cards.

hello @solarwnz

Your problem is somewhere else and you can make them work with manual settings.

switching to other rams listed in QVL will not necessary work because you run too many ram...... i.e. first you have to know about this rule, apply to both Intel and AMD, see this link http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15975&KW=&PID=79200&title=memory-clock-on-asrock-x570-creator#79200

and get tips from this link http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15975&KW=&PID=79223&title=memory-clock-on-asrock-x570-creator#79223

this helps too http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15699&KW=&PID=79187&title=ab350-gamingitx-ac-tridentz-16gb-only-2133-mhz#79187

finally this http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15975&KW=&PID=79186&title=memory-clock-on-asrock-x570-creator#79186

Good luck.

I'm entering this thread in the hopes that someone smarter than me can answer my question: Am I using the wrong memory in my system?

I built a new computer back in June of this year using the ASRock X570 CREATOR ATX AM4 Motherboard. According to the Memory QVL (Matisse) the G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (FN-3600C18-16GTZN) that I installed is, well, not listed. Oops. I didn't check before buying and that's on me.

I've been having random cold boot issues (looping/not booting into Windows) ever since building the system. I'm on Bios 2.40. And even though the RAM is rated for 3600 it reduces itself down.

I have all 4 dimms filled - 16GB in each dimm - for a total of 64 GB of Ram.

Should I switch over to some RAM listed in QVL? Or are my boot problems due to something else?

G.Skill Trident Z Neo seems worth the 20 bucks if you have issues with ram its ryzen branded on the box.

I am buying a B450M Steel Legend, and I want to go with 64 gb ram. Will be using Ryzen 5 3600x.

I was looking at G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3200, but they are not on the list. Anyone had that combo?
