I have a X670E PG Lightning motherboard with a Crucial 2 TB NVME PCIE 5.0 SSD. It shows up correctly in the UEFI, but I cannot choose it as a boot device. I can boot from a Windows 11 USB stick and install Windows to the drive, but when the system reboots to continue the installation, I cannot boot from the NVME SSD, it does not appear as a boot device I can choose, and either boots from the USB stick, or if I remove it, straight into the UEFI menu.
However (!), if I reflash the BIOS/UEFI image (v3.09), I can boot from the drive just fine. But after that, when I go into the UEFI menu to change literally any setting at all (such as setting my RAM to DDR5 6000 using EXPO, or just changing the time and date, or literally any setting I have tried), while the system will POST, I cannot boot from the NVME SSD again. I tried using CSM, both "UEFI Only" and "Legacy Only," but the system will not POST with any combination of those settings. The LEDs on the board stay lit at "DRAM" and "BOOT." If I clear CMOS, I can reboot, but still not from the NVME that has Windows installed on it. Any ideas other than RMA this board? Thanks! |
