On the Phanteks Ethoo Evolv case front panel two wire power switch cable, it is not clear which wire is negative and which is positive/ground although on the underside of the two wires the positive seems to be marked with an embossed triangle. What should the orientation be of this two wire cable to the two PWRBTN(Power Switch) pins on the Asrock X370 TaiChi System Panel Header? If the two wire power switch cable is incorrectly oriented onto the two PWRBTN(Power Switch) pins will I fry my board? The reset switch orientation is not clear either.

With the reset and power switch, it doesn't matter the orientation/polarity.

The triangular marking is probably the positive wire, although most current PC cases do not have any + or - markings on those wires. As said above, the polarity really does not matter, and you will not damage the board in any way if the polarity is not correct. No current flows through those wires, and the switches, when pushed, simply create a connection between the two pins that is sensed by the board as a signal to either start the PSU, or send the reset signal. |
