I updated to new bios 3.1 last night through the bios tool. Now i cant post. The Dr Debug code is 4f. Clearing cmos and trying different ram does not help. Is my only option to rma? Any ideas would be welcome.

Was it booting fine last night after you flashed it?

No. It loaded the update then it rebooted after it was finished and it never made it to post. Stuck at 4f.

Well, the seeming good news is you shouldn't need to tear your loop out.

4f is relating to memory

But what you're going to need to do is ...........

1. Make sure you memory is FULLY seated in slots A2 and B2. Pull them and reseat each.
Clear BIOS and test

Also please state which memory you have please. Heck, post you system specs please.

Post back after reseating and clearing the BIOS please. I'm not 100% sure that will get you up and running but this is the first diagnostic step.

michaelpinkava, if you can boot into the BIOS, please hit F9 to Load UEFI Defaults then Exit and Save.  If can get into BIOS but F9 does not help, then use Instant Flash to go back to your working BIOS.  Do  an F9 plus Exit and Save.  Do not load any saved configurations or set any overclock.  Enjoy, John.

I tried this with no success. I even pulled the cmos battery. I tried each ram individually in the a2 slot. My memory was stable before the bios flash and is on the qvl

1800x, gskill F4-3200C14D-32GTZR, evga 1080ti ftw 3, samsung 960 pro m2 ssd

I was running everything stock. The ram was running xmp profile timings at 2933.  Thank you for your responses.

I am not able to make it that far. I do not not make it far enough in post to activate usb for my keyboard. I tried rebooting and mashing f6 hoping to catch instant flash. Thank you for your response.

michaelpinkava, glad to try helping, sorry has not been effective.  Please post the length (Properties, in bytes) and the hash codes for the BIOS file you used.  Perhaps you got a bad DL.  ASRock should always post hash codes for all their DLs.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

Beginning to think i'm just unlucky seeing how few posts there are of failed flashes.

michaelpinkava, sorry.  My only suggestion is to cantact ASRock.  Please tell us if you did not use Instant Flash.  Enjoy, John.
