I'm having a hard time getting my newly built system to POST.  I have no video on the screen.  Here's my specs:

Mobo:  ASRock x99 Extreme3/A/ASRK
                      Part No: 90-MXGVY0-A0UAYZ
Bios:    P1.80
CPU:    i7-6800k, 3.4 GHz; 15MB Cach; LGA2011
Cooling: Corsair H100i v2 liquid cooler
Ram:    Patriot DDR4 VIPER 4 x 4GB; 2400Mhz; CL16 1.2V
            PN:PVE44G240C6GY
            also tried:
            Corsair Vengance RGB 2 x 8GB 3000 MHz
            PN: CMR16GX4M2C3000C15
GPU:    2 x AMD Radeon RX550 (4 monitor)
PSU:    Corsair CX500

Bottom line - I can't get it to boot or pass the POST.  No video shows on screen.

Please help if you can.

John

Your PSU is woefully inadequate. A single RX 550's min is 350w

So is that the main reason for the lack of video?

No, but you probably know the reason why your PC won't start by now. If not...

You're using a Broadwell i7-6800K CPU without the appropriate UEFI/BIOS version. You need at least version 3.30, but you have version P1.80. That is shown in your board's CPU support list:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X99%20Extreme3/?cat=CPU

X99 boards originally worked only with Haswell-E HEDT processors, but later the Broadwell-E HEDT processors were also compatible with X99 boards IF they have a compatible UEFI/BIOS version with the appropriate processor microcode in it. Which is why you must have at least UEFI version 3.30.

Unfortunately, you must either use a Haswell-E processor to perform the UEFI/BIOS update, or replace the UEFI/BIOS chip in the board with one that contains at least the Broadwell compatible 3.30 version. That chip is in a socket, so can be replaced (carefully) by the user.

As I explained in the other thread you posted in, this situation is an Intel thing that they have never found another work around for. This applies to any and ALL X99 boards made by any manufacture.

You can order (most likely free) a new UEFI/BIOS chip from ASRock, via the form on this page. Please provide the serial number of your board to verify ownership:
