The problem was solved - it was necessary to carefully read the instructions and install single memory rank into A2 slot.

But at 3.40 bios it did not work, i.e. an upgrade of the bios is help me

The X4 is compatible with this board on all BIOS revisions.

By chance did you buy the proc used?

The Athlon CPU was purchased new from a large online retailer.   I was never able to get it to boot and ended up returning it.

If you change to a different CPU in any board, you MUST clear the BIOS and also remove the board's battery to clear the BIOS/CMOS memory. Have you ever done this before? Be sure to remove all power from the PC, and leave the battery out for at least five minutes.

An X4 950 should be compatible with your board and any UEFI/BIOS version, according the the CPU Support list.

The specs say nothing about memory speed with Athlon X4 processors, so I would keep it at 2133 for the first couple boots into Windows, and then try increasing it a little at a time.

I have the latest bios and there's only a couple of athlon's that are listed, but from what I can tell it's supported.

My memory is DDR 2400 which is what it's supposed to support up to also.

As far as graphics it says right on the box that discrete graphics is required.    When it says APU they actually define that as Athlon Process Unit on the side of the box even though it doesn't have graphics capabilities.

the apu's dont support fast ram

does anyone know if the athlon actually does ?

e.g. is your ram NOW incompatable ?
