When I turn the PSU on, motherboard lights turn on.
However when I press the power button, it turns on for less than a second and then turns off (no beep). Already double checked, removed and placed everything again, but got the same behavior. If I remove the 8-pin CPU power cable, then it turns on and stay on, but with the expected error code (Dr Debug) 00. Found a lot of possible causes searching online, but couldn't find a solution... One thing that I tried was to remove everything, and keep just the case, PSU, mobo and CPU, both with or without the cooler. Would it boot (or give a different error) without the CPU cooler? My configuration: MOBO: ASRock X299 Taichi Processor: Intel Core I9 7920 Case: CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro 5 PSU: Corsair HX750 Cooler: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Pro 120

My mind goes to either the PSU or CPU/Socket. Check the CPU and Socket pins for any abnormalities, if there is a short or bent pins it could cause the behavior you are experiencing.
Also make sure your 8pin CPU power is connected to the 4+4 pin CPU power header on your PSU not the PCIe 8pin, they are interchangeable on the PSU end but not compatible with each other. If you are feeding the wrong one to the CPU 8pin header on the board it could also cause the issues you are seeing.

Just checked the cable and PSU port used to connect the 8-pin CPU cable, and it was already correct. Tried to move it, but got the same problem. About CPU socket pins, that is one of the first things that I checked. Can't see any possible anomaly, through visual inspection. Just noticed I posted in the wrong forum... Will repost the original question in the correct one. |

Update about the problem: after checking everything that I could, I had to give up and go to a local store. We changed each component and in the end the motherboard was the prioblem. There was no bend pin, broken connector or any visible problem. Thanks for the replies. |
