I recently purchased a X299 Taichi and am having a major technical issue.
The C1 and C2 slots both are not detected in the BIOS. I have 4 16GB memory sticks. The model of the 64GB kit was: F4-3200C14Q-64GTZR I have the configuration as follows: B1, A1 CPU C1, D1. When I boot, it detects only 3 sticks (not C1) and says Triple Channel. However when I go to tweak the XMP profile, it sees all 4 memory sticks. I tried swapping around the sticks. C1 still is not detected on the main BIOS screen. I tried moving the stick to C2, no detection of C2, but seen in XMP tweak tool. I tried A1, B1, D1, and D2. Detects all 4, but only has Triple Channel as expected. I tried just A1 and B1, that works and is Dual Channel as expected. I tried reseating the CPU. No change. I reset the CMOS after each memory change. I have the latest non-beta (1.60) BIOS. I tried blowing the C1 and C2 slots. No change. The memory is RGB. All sticks light up even in C1 and C2. I tried upping the voltage by switching to the XMP profile. No change. I tried A1, B1, C1. Dual Channel. C1 isn't seen. I'm about to return this board. Is there anything else I can try? What would cause those slots to not be detected in the BIOS, but the tweak tool in the DRAM section of the BIOS sees them fine? Edited by Thejtm - 29 Nov 2017 at 3:39pm |

Wow that does suck. Well, thanks for the update. I guess I will be RMAing my board again. Such a weird issue. Since XMP picks it up.
