First time building a PC and you can imagine the disappointment in not being able to get any display going... although it seems to start up. I do not have a dedicated graphics card, will buy later down the road. Want to use integrated at first. A bunch of lights on mobo + fans. I have tried to use each slot of ram with a separate card to see if it would work, nope. Tried all display adapters (HDMI, DVI, VGA). Reset CMOS. Reseatted CPU. Dont know what else I could do. I decided to look into it further and noticed that the ram I had purchased is not on the support memory list on ASRock's website. Could this really be the cause? I am thinking that there could be backwards compatibility since the ram I bought is for z170 intel chipset.

Doing more research, I find that the RAM I bought is apparently compatible according to G Skill : (

Folks, I am officially a monkey. I never had the CPU cable plugged in. Please note me as an example of rushing to conclusions without checking all components are plugged in.
