As others have noted, once upgrading to BIOS 4.10 for my AB350 Gaming K4, I can no longer conventionally overclock, either through the UEFI or the F-Stream tuning app. I've trying flashing to an earlier BIOS, but the problem stays, and the only thing that seems to change is RAM support gets worse going back. So far, the only thing I can use is Ryzen Master software, but only with very specific RAM speeds(what Ryzen Master allows), and even then nothing above 2933Mhz, which is very disappointing because I can boot to 3466 16-16-16-16-36 with no issues with my QVL-supported Ripjaws V 3600 kit. I would recommend everyone stay far away from this BIOS update, until they provide a replacement for all the bugs it includes.

On a related note, is there any way I can do more a clean BIOS wipe than using the UEFI to flash to a previous version?

yes
flashback using the dos method apperently wipes the whole bios before writing new files
so the traces of later bios are not present

i have not tried this myself but our taichi guru who works with amd on several issues and also has feedback directly with asrock bios team and tests betas for them says it works for him

credit to chew (brian mcloclain)

well i have oc woes with current x370 k4 1.0.0.6b Bios
i cant get reasonably higher than 3.8ghz with my 1600x

best setting seems auto with 3.7ghz but cpu core voltages range from 0.8V to 1.49V with Cn'Q
Ryzenmaster works better, but if i take ryzenmaster settings to the bios - no POST and the POST error handling is quite bad imo, i mean its 2017 and i have to do jumperresets.

the plus is i can run my gflaresX on their rated speeds and timings at 3200mhz

I'm quite dissapointed - after the Fatality 990X with my FX 8350 ran perfectly

Thanks, I'll look into the DOS method.

Thanks datonyb, I used the DOS version 3.00 BIOS version from the website, and it worked a treat, booted to 3.7Ghz first try. Must have been something hanging around from the later BIOS stuffing things up.

glad i could help mate

yes it seems the instant flash just chooses to overlay some things or imbed whater terms you want to use,
whereas the 'old skool' DOS does a wipe and then flash

brian was having so real wierd issues changing back and forth with beta bios and found the only way was dos based flash and then to try later bios overwritten with instant flash
